The Roswell Museum Federal Art Center

Bertha Rose

A Roswell resident, Bertha Rose joined the museum as a gallery attendant in 1941 before becoming acting director. Rose is the last administrator mentioned in the archive for the WPA period. She helped oversee the museum's temporary transition into a WW2 service center. When the local sponsors decided to separate from the FAP and become an independent institution, she ensured the return of all FAP equipment to the state office in Santa Fe.
